Many significant buildings have been lost to Burnie. Among them art deco designs, Edwardian, Victorian and the outright quirky.
During construction of the Burnie Technical School human remains were disturbed, it was later realized that it was on the site of one of Burnie’s original graveyards.
A plaque located on View Road above Bass Highway, states that graves used to be present in that area.
